Sun Tzu lived in the 5th century BC. His real name was Sun Wu; "Sun Tzu" means "Master Sun." Chinese tradition regards him as the author of the very first work that gave rise to the literary genre known as *Bing Fa* ("The Art of War"). At the same time, it is the first treatise in human history dedicated to war and the art of warfare.
