Commentaries on the Gallic War* is a work by Gaius Julius Caesar in which, using his characteristic precise, concise, and vigorous style, he described his conquest of Gaul between 58 and 50 BC, as well as two crossings of the Rhine and the landing in Britain. In addition to accounts of campaigns and battles, Caesar includes numerous geographical and ethnographic details that remain of interest to this day.
