The Overlook is an old and luxurious hotel in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The hotel's new winter manager, Jack Torrance, hopes to rediscover his creative talent here. His wife is more concerned about the threatened stability of the family, and Danny, their son, who is gifted with clairvoyance, already knows that horror awaits them in the empty rooms of the hotel.
