"Crooked House" is considered Agatha Christie's most intricate novel. It was published in 1949 in post-war England. It is one of Christie's ten favorite books and one of the few that satisfied the author. The latter notes that it was interesting to study the history of one family, with its secrets and interpersonal relationships. The unusual structure of the house also symbolizes the intricate nature of these relationships. Greek tycoon Aristide Leonides mysteriously dies in his house in one of the London suburbs. None of the family members have either a motive for killing him or an alibi. Natural death, fatal coincidence or premeditated murder? Will Scotland Yard be able to find out the truth?
