The novel "Murder in Mesopotamia" is another masterpiece of the detective genre by Agatha Christie. It was first published in 1936. In Great Britain, later in the same year in the United States. Agatha Christie dedicated the novel to her archaeologist friends in Iraq and Syria. The events revolve around Louise Leyden, the wife of the head of an archaeological expedition in Iraq. The latter receives anonymous letters full of death threats from time to time. Eventually, her husband finds her murdered in her room. Once again, the solution to the murder mystery is taken up by the already well-known Belgian private detective Hercule Poirot, who by a strange coincidence appears in Iraq. The first murder, however, is followed by a second one - the murder of a witness who has provided important information about the murderer. And Hercule Poirot, putting his little gray cells into action, is able to reveal the murder mystery without any facts, relying on his rich experience and knowledge of human psychology.
